Folines early access release
============================

Folines is a Windows app for focus-oriented typography wallpapers.

This early access build is intentionally conservative: it installs the Folines
control center, diagnostics, preview renderer, tray app, and safe settings flow.
The full Lively-style live desktop engine is being built separately from the GPL
Lively codebase before it replaces the current fallback path.

Quick start
-----------

1. Extract this ZIP.
2. Right-click Install-Folines.ps1.
3. Choose "Run with PowerShell".
4. Launch Folines from the desktop shortcut or Start Menu shortcut.

Manual launch
-------------

You can also run Folines.exe directly from the extracted folder.

Safety preflight
----------------

Run Test-FolinesSafety.ps1 to verify install state, shortcuts, startup entries,
relevant processes, and recent diagnostics without starting the live wallpaper.
Use:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\Test-FolinesSafety.ps1 -RunSelfTest

The self-test path only runs Folines.exe --self-test and exits. It does not
start wallpaper windows.

Live wallpaper status
---------------------

If Lively Wallpaper is running, this build leaves Lively in control of the live
desktop so Folines cannot cover desktop icons or block right-click. Use the
control center and preview tools to validate themes and settings until the
Folines desktop engine is promoted from prototype to release.

Security note
-------------

This early build is unsigned. Windows may show an unknown publisher warning until
a paid code-signing certificate is available. The app stores settings locally and
does not require an account.

Uninstall
---------

Run Uninstall-Folines.ps1, or remove:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Folines
